2001 FIN  Spirol Completes Ownership of Precise Products

October 19, 2001 FIN – Spirol International president James Shaw announced the formation of Spirol Distribution and named David LaFleur sales manager.
For over 50 years Spirol International has manufactured engineered components and now produces 20,000 items. All Spirol products will be available from Spirol Distribution.

Danielson, CT-based Spirol International has owned a majority of Precise Products since 1991 and last year acquired the remaining shares and relocated production from New Jersey to Connecticut. The new facilities include heat treating and finishing.

September 16, 1991 FIN – Precise Products is the name of a new company (a limited partnership) that has set up manufacturing facilities in Paramount, New Jersey to produce slotted spring pins.
The spring pins are self locking fasteners designed for applications requiring the assembly of metal-stamping, castings, forgings etc. – parts or plastics and wood.

The new company occupies a 16,000 sq. ft. office, manufacturing and warehouse plant in Paramus, New Jersey.

Management includes Vito Cardone, present; Douglas Thonus, general manager; William Mayer, production foreman; and Leslie Sieper, inside sales manager.
Carbone has worked with fasteners and hardware since 1957, initially as a design engineer and most recently as vice president of another spring pin producer.
Thonus, has worked in the fastener industry for 20 years and has a degree in business administration. In his most recent position he was responsible at another company for spring pin production, the plant and equipment, personnel, environmental considerations and for implementing policy decisions of the Board of Directors.
Mayer is a tool and die maker with over 30 years experience. At another spring maker he supervised production, participated in the procurement, installation and implementals of tooling, machinery and process and was responsible for training of all production personnel.
