1992 FIN – Metro Bolt Opens New Showroom in Detroit

June 11, 1992 FIN – Metro Bolt & Fastener, Detroit, Michigan, has opened a new showroom in Detroit. The showroom is part of Metro Bolt’s new headquarters building, opened in April, located just two miles from its previous location.

“Remaining centrally located in the Tri-County area allows us to reach our customers quickly and efficiently.” Metro president Steven Chapman tells FIN.
The new 3,000 sq ft showroom features something for everyone-from the general contractor to the gadget guru, Chapman tells FIN.
“We can service large manufacturing companies, as well as individual consumers,” business partner Jerry Gudes tells FIN. “We carry everything from paints and industrial brooms to the fasteners you’ve looked everywhere for,”
Metro Bolt has also included a Quality Processing Lab and SQA staff to its new headquarters building.
Metro Bolt was started in April 1952 and in 1985 the previous owners, sold the company to Stephen Chapman and Jerry Gudes. They subsequently doubled sales in just six years. In 1991 lone, sales increased by 20%.
Gudes is a 1977 Northern Michigan graduate and Chapman attended the University of Michigan.
