NFDA to Get Advice on Leadership, Economy & Championship Teams
Tribal leadership, legal advice for a recession, an economic forecast and a pro-football player’s view of championship teams are the conference topics for the National Fastener Distributors Association spring meeting.
The meeting will be April 22-25, 2009, at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Dave Logan, co-founder and senior partner of CultureSync will speak on upgrading a company based on Tribal Leadership, a 10-year, 14,000-person study published last year by HarperCollins.
Economist Brian Beaulieu, executive director of the Institute for Trend Research, will speak on the U.S. economic outlook.
Caliper CEO Herb Greenberg will speak on “Maximizing sales and account management productivity in a challenging economy.”
NFDA legal counsel Rob Hanna will speak on “Navigating your legal rights through the troubled waters of a recession.”
Former National Football League All-Pro player Brian Holloway will speak on “Dynasty Crafting the Power of Championship Teams.”

Concrete Anchoring, Hiring & the Economy Among WAFD Topics
New cracked concrete anchoring requirements, hiring and the economic recovery are among topics at the upcoming Western Association of Fastener Distributors spring conference.
Dr. Bill Conerly will speak on how economic recovery will come to the U.S. and the fastener industry.
A WAFD panel including Andy Cohn of Duncan Bolt and Bob Porteous of Porteous Fastener Co. will discuss ways to ride out the recession.
Representatives of Powers Fasteners will explain new masonry anchor suppliers’ responsibilities regarding AC193 and AC308 as promulgated by the ICC Evaluation Service. Previous concrete anchor reports for screw and adhesive anchors are no longer valid effective Jan. 1, 2009.
WAFD will meet April 3-4, 2009, at the Hotel Monaco in Portland.
The spring meeting also features WAFD’s business owners and business executive forums. Dr. Steven Hunt, author of Hiring Success, will give employment tips to both groups during the forums.
There will be software user group meetings with Inxsql and Computer Insights and WAFD’s “supplier speed dating.”
