Burbidge Leaving NEFDA After 20 Years

John Wolz

Pat Burbidge has resigned as secretary of the New England Fastener Distributors Association. Bill Wisk of John W. Phalen & Associates will be interim secretary.
After 20 years I felt it was time to step aside and allow someone new to take charge and inject his or her ideas into the organization, Burbidge said. She plans to continue supervise her independent booking practice and enjoy a bit more travel and vacation time.
She started as NEFDA secretary in 1984 simply taking minutes and sending out correspondence. Over time Burbidge took on financial records duties and managing meetings.
I am most proud to say that, in 20 years, I never missed a meeting, Burbidge reflected.
Burbidge represented NEFDA at the Fastener Industry Coalition. She was inducted in the associations Hall of Fame in 1996.
Burbidge started in the fastener industry as secretary to Ben Taber at the manufacturing rep firm, B.C. Taber Co. and master distributorship Hygdrade Fasteners in Worcester, MA.
