1989 FIN – Randall Announces $3 Million Capital Investment Program for Allfast

January 31, 1989 FIN – Allfast Fastening Systems, Inc., City of Industry, California, a major producer of aerospace fasteners, has begun a $3.0 million capital investment program to upgrade its manufacturing operations.
According to Jim Randall, president of Allfast, the company has installed two new Moroni Hi-Speed 4-die progressive cold headers, which were supplied by NorthStar Equipment Corp., New City, New York, and has additional new machines on order, which will be placed during the first part of 1989. Allfast also has acquired a major portion of the equipment to produce blind rivets, which was previously owned by Voi Shan, another southern California based producer of aerospace fasteners, which has recently discontinued the manufacture of blind rivets.
Randall told FIN that Allfast has added the equipment in response to some new market opportunities. The Department of Defense (DOD) has recently approved the company’s Allmax lines of blind rivets for military spec M-7885, making Allfast one of the only companies qualified to do so. The M-7885 fasteners are also used in commercial applications by Boeing and McDonnell Douglas.
Allfast Fastening Systems was founded in 1969 and purchased in 1971 by Randall, who started his career in the aerospace fastener industry in 1960.
Other key personnel include Glen Willey, vice president /marketing, and Ralph Luhm, vice President/engineering.
The company’s 100,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and headquarters is located at 15200 Don Julian Rd., City of Industry, CA 91745. ©1989/2013 Fastener Industry NewsFor information on permission to reuse or reprint this article please e-mail: FIN@GlobalFastenerNews.com
