2016 FIN – The Bossard Group agreed to acquire Arnold Industries as part of a strategy of consolidating its position in the U.S. market.

Founded in 1968, Massachusetts-based Arnold has US$40 million in sales in primarily the electronics, telecommunications, medical technology and energy market.  Arnold has 100 employees and subsidiaries in Ireland and China.

Swiss-based Bossard’s announcement cited its 2015 acquisition of Aero-Space Southwest Inc. as part of its North American expansion strategy.

Bossard earlier established North American presence with facilities in the Midwest (Iowa, Illinois), Southeast (Georgia, Tennessee), Southwest (Texas, Arizona), and West Coast (California, Washington); Canada; and Mexico.

“The acquisition of Arnold Industries is ideal for reinforcing Bossard’s market position in a number of different industries, especially electronics and medical technology, which are well represented in the New York and Boston metropolitan areas,” Bossard’s acquisition announcement stated.  “Arnold Industries is also a well-recognized expert in the energy and telecommunications sectors.”

Arnold and Bossard already sell some of the same brands, the statement added.

Arnold named Joel Roseman as executive VP in 2004.  Roseman was the 2007-2008 president of the National Fastener Distributors Association.

Roseman told FIN he will remain with Arnold.

Arnold has three locations and is headquartered at 80 Shawmut Rd., Canton, MA 02021. Tel: 781 828-4343 Web: arnoldindustries.com

Bossard has 2,000 employees in 70 global locations, a one million product range, and generated CHF 656.3 million (US$659.4m) in 2015 sales. Web: Bossard.com   ©2016 Fastener Industry News.
