A Raymond of France Acquires Tinnerman Palnut

A Raymond acquired Tinnerman Palnut Engineered Products of Ohio to form A Raymond Tinnerman Manufacturing.

Grenoble, France-based A Raymond, a global supplier of automotive fastening and fluid-handling connections systems, will merge its North American operations with Tinnerman into the manufacturing company.

David Nenno, president of the new group, explained that the acquisition expands A Raymond’s presence in automotive and other industrial markets in North America. “We’re creating a powerful, new North American organization to provide our customers with a better, more competitive and complete portfolio of plastic and metal fasteners, fluid quick-connections and other assemblies,” Nenno said.

Tinnerman began supplying A Raymond with metal fasteners a year ago and merger talks began six months ago.

Founded in 1865 to produce fasteners for the European textile industry, privately owned A Raymond expanded continuously and today specializes in engineered clip fastening solutions. Automotive applications include interior, exterior, powertrain, fluid systems and electrical products plus construction, solar, medical, agriculture and consumer goods products.

A Raymond has 34 companies with 19 manufacturing facilities and 10 engineering centers. The U.S. operations are based in Rochester Hills, MI.

Founded in 1870, Tinnerman designs, produces and supplies engineered connection systems, including spring steel fasteners, precision stampings, automation and assembly aids and sub-assemblies to automotive and industrial OEMs. Customers include automakers, Tier One suppliers and other industrial manufacturers. ©2009 GlobalFastenerNews.com
