FACIL NA, a global full service provider to the car and truck industry, is currently seeking a motivated and talented individual to fill our position at our Portland, Oregon facility. This individual will drive the applications engineering activities that support sales, quality assurance, purchasing and continuous improvement activities from a technical business development standpoint.

Essential Responsibilities and Functions

·   Central point of contact for customer

·   Manage and support fastener related issues and assist the customer in solving joint problems

·   Manage and support the development of fastener applications

·   Manage and support customer technical objectives (cost – partcount – weight)

·   Manage and support cost and timing information

·   Manage and support the customer fastener release process

·   Support Bill of Material part count – Propose standardization possibilities – reporting of simplified

·   Bill of Material cost

·   Depending on assignment or project, on-site support can be required at customer (periodical or resident)

·   Technical support to Facil Purchase, Sales, Quality, Logistic Department and Facil Branches

·   Active participation or project leader role in different projects

·   Technical support in case of new programs and/or new customers

·   Coordinate, follow up and support the technical cost reductions across the different branches and product platforms

·   Monthly reporting of all above facts & figures to manager(s)

·   ISO 14001 awareness and act accordingly

·   ISO/TS 16949 awareness and act accordingly (CAI Matrix)

Required Qualifications

·   Experience: 2+ years of fastener experience, preferably in the automotive sector. Experience in cross functional team is a plus.

·   Education: Master’s degree (mechanical Engineering or similar) or equal by experience.

·   Knowledge and skills: Good mechanical knowledge and knowledge of fasteners is a must. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently. Customer-focused with good organization and coordination skills.

·   Travel: Regular travel to local customer facilities. Extended travel for training purposes both domestic and internationally may apply
