Fastener Tech Expands to 157 Exhibiting Companies; 170 Booths

Fastener Tech 2015 is expanding booth space and offering advance registration for free.

The fifth biennial Fastener Tech ’15 will be June 8-10, 2015, at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL – near Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.

Mid-West Fastener Association executive director Nancy Rich reported 157 companies have booked 170 booths. That will surpass the first Fastener Tech in 2007, which had 165 booths. The number dropped to 127 in the recession year of 2009. The 2013 Fastener Tech had 147 companies totaling 152 booths; in 2011 there were 112 companies with 117 booths.

Five topics for conferences during Fastener Tech 15 range from an all-day Fastener Technology Workshop to sessions on industry trends, “buyers beware,” manufacturing fasteners from beginning to end to 21st century changes.

The events are co-sponsored by the Mid-West Fastener Association and Fastener Technology International.

Monday:
Fastener Technology Workshop with Bengt Blenfulf of EduPro US Inc., by the Fastener Training Institute, 8:30 am to 4:40 pm.

Tuesday:
• “A Discussion on Latest Industry Trends.” led by FCH Sourcing Network. 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. Panel of three industry leaders, moderated by Eric Dudas of FCH Sourcing Network.
• “Buyers Beware” seminar by Mid-West Fastener Association, 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Safeguards against ordering wrong manufactured, plated or imported parts to minimize risks and loss of profits.
• Making Fastener from Beginning to End, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., by Fastener Technology International. Fundamentals of fastener manufacturing from cold forming and thread rolling through heat treatment, coating and plating, quality control and packaging.
• “People and Organization Management in the 21st Century,” by Women in the Fastener Industry, 3 pm to 4 pm. Renee Giacalone, senior manager for Centric Consulting of Chicago; and Lou Aderman, a manufacturers rep with The Aderman Co. Inc.; coach/consultant; and WIFI co-founder.

There will be a Technology Center reception, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, followed by the All Industry Reception from 5 pm to 7 pm.

MWFA’s 63rd annual Golf Outing will be on Monday.

Fastener Tech is held concurrently with the National Association of Surface Finishing’s Sur/Fin trade show.
