NAW Announces 1st Internet Partnership
The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors entered into an alliance with TradeOut.com for selling excess inventory via the Internet.
TradeOut.com is a business-to-business excess and obsolete inventory marketplace for categories including computers, apparel, food, beverage, consumer automotive, hardware, industrial and capital equipment.
NAW vice president Ron Schreibman said market research shows excess inventory is a major nonproducing asset for thousands of wholesaler-distributors. This is merchandise that cannot be returned to suppliers nor sold to established customers. TradeOut.coms broad reach and marketplace create totally new channels through which this inventory can move.
NAW president Dirk VanDongen commented that the Internet is a threat to traditional distribution for those who dont recognize and embrace its inevitable, growing role in our economy. We are joining with progressive distributors to embrace it as a tool which can enhance the role of the distributor.
NAW will be announcing a series of Internet partnerships in coming weeks. For information: www.tradeout.com/raw
