FIN Fastener Stock Index Up 1% in 4th Quarter of 2000

The FIN Fastener Stock Index rose 1% in the fourth quarter of 2000, outperforming a combination of related stock indexes, which slipped down 1%.\
Fastener stocks gaining more than 10% were: Alcoa, Barnes, Black & Decker, Danaher, Honeywell, Nucor, PennEngineering, Precision Castparts, Lawson Products and Eastern Company.
Losing more than 10% were Aviall, Dover, Fairchild, Pentacon, TransTechnology, Pacific Aerospace, Park-Ohio, Questron, R&B Inc., Chicago Rivet and Ivaco.
During the third quarter the FIN Index was up 2%, compared with the related stock indexes edging up 1%.
