Hilti Worldwide Sales Up 7% for 2010

Hilti Group sales increased 7% in 2010 to CHR 3930 million (US$4,080,570,000).
Hilti had posted a sales decline for 2009 and the early months of 2010 followed that trend.

Hilti pointed to increases in its solar business for sales gains in 2010.

Latin America sales grew 21%; Near/Middle East and Africa 12%; North America 9%; Asia/Pacific 8%; and Europe 6%.

The European growth was primarily in German-speaking countries. Sales in Spain, Portugal and Ireland continued to decline.

“We emerged from the economic crisis in very good shape,” CEO Bo Risberg declared. “In 2011 we must continue on our course of recovery even though markets may remain volatiles. We once again expect solid sales growth in 2011.”

The 7% increase is based on local currencies. When calculated in Swiss francs it is a 2% sales increase for 2010 over 2009 due to appreciation in the Swiss currency.

Headquartered in Schaan, Liechtenstein, Hilti supplies the worldwide construction industry. The Group employs some 20,000 persons in over 120 countries.  Web: Hilti.com ©2011 GlobalFastenerNews.com
