John Wolz
Fastener and industrial supply distributor Lawson Products Inc. will eliminate 40 jobs following a successful upgrade to portions of its distribution business, the Associated Press reports.
As part of its distribution business reorganization, Lawson will more than double the size of a distribution facility in Reno, NV, to about 250,000 sq ft by the middle of 2007.
The company also announced that president and COO Jeffrey Belford will retire Jan. 5 after more than 26 years with the company. Thomas Neri will become chief operating officer immediately and president when Belford retires. \ 2006 FastenerNews.com
