OBITUARY: Ben Taber

Benjamin C. Taber, 62, died Dec-ember 9, 2004, after a year-long battle with cancer.\
Taber started his 34-year fastener career as a sales rep for Lamson & Sessions in Massachusetts. He later was president of Phillips Screw Company and director of mergers & acquisitions for W�rth Group. He also operated a manufacturers rep firm, B.C. Taber Co. In recent years he formed the Canterbury Group Inc. to provide merger & acquisition service to fastener companies and was associated with Capital Sales Inc., and EFC International.
He was the U.S. delegate to the International Standards Organization (ISO). He had been a New England Fastener Distributors Association board member and its first newsletter editor and was active in the National Fastener Distributors Association.
Survivors include his spouse Betsie, daughters Sarah Taber and Emily Taber, son Bengi Taber, brother, Martin Calfee of Copper State Nut & Bolt, and sister, Sarah Calfee Morse.
