David Richards of Richards-Apex Inc. is the new president of the Wire Association International. Richards is vice president of international administration and materials manager for Philadelphia-based Richards-Apex.\
WAI, founded in 1930, is a global association for the wire and cable industry. It publishes Wire Journal International and WJI Reference Guide and organizes the Interwire and Wire Expo, trade shows and the International Technical Conference.
Richards said WAI programs are being reevaluated and streamlined �to fit today�s environment,� reflecting the current economic conditions. WAI is working on collaborations with industry organizations, including wire associations in Mexico and Australia.
