Bernard Levine, an entrepreneur with experience in the electronic hardware industry, started Unicorp Inc. in 1971 in New Jersey to manufacture electronic hardware. As Unicorp marks its 50th anniversary in addition to electronic hardware, it manufactures fasteners, cable ties and handles.

After Levine retired in 1989, Steven Mercadante became the company’s managing partner.

Unicorp anticipates expanding its manufacturing capabilities as needed by customers. Unicorp touts its title of “oddball king” for offering a wide variety of diameters, lengths, materials and finishes.

Unicorp partners with Rotor Clip to distribute retaining rings.

Unicorp customers include distributors and catalog houses. The Unicorp product line consists of metric and American standard standoffs, spacers, male-female standoffs, male-male standoffs, jackscrews, swage standoffs and spacers, plastic circuit board supports, captive panel screws, nylon fasteners, cable ties, dowel pins, thumbscrews, thumbnuts, flat washers, insulating washers, self-clinching fasteners and handles.

Mercadante continues as the owner / principal.  Chris Mercadante is an owner and George Recentio is vice president of sales.
