Cable tie manufacturer American Elite Molding announced its starting wage is now $10.50 and employees meeting a performance criteria can raise up to $13 within one year. Supervisors can make up to $23 an hour.

AEM provides health insurance and 401(k) employer matching plus paid holidays and vacation.

Employees work 12-hour shifts for shorter workweeks, alternating between four-day and three-day weeks. “Essentially, our staff works half the year,” HR director Sue Vondra said. They are paid overtime on the fourth day.

“We provide extensive on-the-job training, so team members can start with no experience at all and rapidly progress, as we prefer to promote from within,” Vondra said.

CEO Robert Sires said the wages and benefits are to “attract the best staff and keep them around for the long term.”

AEM operates 24/7/365.

Founded in 1998, American Elite has four stocking locations and operates an ISO 9001-certified, 75,000-sq-ft plant and headquarters at 5680 John Givens Rd, Crestview, FL 32539. Tel: 888 463-3454 Web: AmericanEliteMolding.com
