Acument’s new fastener plant in Brazil

Long a fixture in the fastener industry, the company once known as Textron Fastening Systems has undergone changes as it seeks to strengthen its position in global markets.
 

“We remain a leading global fastener supplier,” Acument Global Technologies communications director Tim Weir told FIN.  
 

“For example, Acument Germany supplies parts to French OEMs and Tier suppliers in addition to it’s own customers in Germany.”

Platinum Equity Selling Avdel To Pan-Asian Private Equity Firm

“Divesting our Avdel and Global Electronics and Commercial businesses is an important step in the global realignment that has strengthened Acument in response to the economic downturn,” Acument communications director Tim Weir told GlobalFastenerNews.com.

Acument Building New Fastener Plant in South America

Employing 300 workers, the plant will enable Acument to improve its standards of manufacturing productivity in Brazil, where it is a fastener supplier to the country’s automotive assembly plants and Tier supplier component factories.

Acument Completes France Divestiture

Weir told GlobalFastenerNews.com that the French divestiture does not signal any intent by Acument to withdraw from European markets.

Acument CEO Named to Spartan Motors Board

Dauch joined Acument in 2008 from American Axle & Manufacturing, where as executive VP of worldwide manufacturing he was responsible for 17 locations, including start-up plants in Poland and China.

Acument Completes Camcar Transfer to Saturn Fasteners

Acument transferred the Camcar tooling and machinery to Saturn Fasteners, which it acquired after launching Camcar Aerospace.
