China’s Metal Fastener Output Drops

China’s metal fasteners output fell 4.7% to 983,200 tons during the first two months of 2013, ChinaFastener.com reports. 
The top five fastener producing provinces were Zhejiang (306,400 tons), Hebei (17.6%) of total), Sichuan (13.3%), and Shanghai (8.95%), according to ChinaFastener.com.

China’s metal fastener production rose 10.3% to 5.48 million tons in 2012, according to China Business Market.

The top producing provinces in 2012 included Zhejiang province (down 3.3% to 1.97 million tons); Hebei (up 13.1% to 1.07 million tons); Jiangsu (down .09% to 482,327 tons); Sichuan (up 45% to 468,192 tons); and Shandong (up 8.4% to 30,974 tons).

According to the China Fastener Industry Association, full-year China fastener exports fell 3.6% to 2.49 million tons, while the export value edged up 1% to US$4.71 billion. Total fastener imports for China dropped 3.1% to 255,700 tons with the value increasing 5.4% to US$3.1 billion. ©2013 GlobalFastenerNews.com
