Director of Engineering and Quality
MI/IL – based fastener company is looking for a technical leader who will be responsible for serving as the organizations lead engineering representative, managing the customer interface on all engineering and quality issues including tool design, quality systems, customer requests, and TS 16949.
Responsibilities:
Act as lead engineering liaison for key customers
Direct activities of internal Applications Engineering Department
Direct Tool Design Engineers to ensure efficient quoting, sample process, and ordering and expediting of tools
Represent the company with technical and industry affiliations (IFI, ASTM, AISI, etc.)
Coordinate R&D for new or existing business
Contribute to the broader management team to help focus and prioritize quality issues in accordance with the organizations quality system and customer expectations
Direct managers or leaders within various engineering and quality departments
Direct quality system within the framework of customer expectations
Establish necessary reliability functions with respect to our products
Oversee TS 16949 activities
Management of PPAP function
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of technology involved in fastener manufacturing processes
Ability to effectively manage technical people and positively interact with Manufacturing and Sales departments
APQP/PFMEA
Exceptional Customer Service/Relations capabilities
Deep knowledge of automotive quality systems
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Thorough knowledge of strategic planning process
Issue Analysis/Resolution capabilities
High value and ethical characteristics
