Director of Purchasing
Mid-sized fastener distributor looking for a for fasteners.
Qualifications are as follows:
-Must have good knowledge of both fasteners and sources from both domestic and international sources. Previous experience with vendors in Asia and China a plus.
-Minimum of 7 years experience in the fastener industry required.
-Possess excellent negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with internal/eternal suppliers and customers.
-Strong work ethic and teamwork; “can do” attitude and desire to provide best service.
-Good computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint a plus) and experience with MRP or ERP systems.
-Good quantitative and analytical skills.
-Successful candidate will have occasional travel to supplier locations (domestic and Asia).
-Focus and track record with Continuous Improvement & Supplier Development.
-Ability to read blueprints is preferred.
-Familiarity with manufacturing and materials as with various types of fasteners is a plus.
-Salary commensurate with experience.
