Fastener Engineer/Fast-Rite International

Fast-Rite International is a rapidly expanding service driven distributor of fasteners, stampings, fittings and assemblies. We are located in Glendale Heights, IL. We are currently seeking a Fastener Engineer. The Fastener Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, creation, policies contract review process, and the SAP Material Master. The Fastener Engineer is also in charge of blueprint creation as well serves as a back-up to the Quoting Manager

Responsibilities include:

To provide customer relations/application engineering for the companies various internal and external customers.

Trouble shoot customer application engineering issues and responded with a solution that addresses the customers application and potential cost savings solutions.

Provide support for internal and external customers on issues related to the design, testing, and manufacturing of fasteners and fastener related products.

Verify the accuracy of customer prints and specifications.

Producing prints and design tooling prints using Solidworks

Create SAP material master, policies and standards

Maintain material master revision changes and service items

Responsible for accuracy of item master

Developing proposal prints and obtaining quotes from outside vendors

Review customer specifications

Use proven design practices where applicable and monitor unproven practices

Responsible for all aspects of product non-conformity and issue resolution

Maintain SAP inspection system

Responsible for creation of dimension and attachment to material

Ensures that process changes meet customer requirements.  Responsible for updating quality documentation and completing required documentation for customer approval

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred; or relevant 3-5 years experience

Experience with Solidworks or equivalent CAD program (Pro-E, Wildfire)

Prior experience in the fastener industry (preferably 3-5 years)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

SAP Experience preferred

Salary Commensurate with Experience.
