Hubbard New WAFD President; LAFA Alliance Replaces Merger

Alison Hubbard of North State Fastener was elected president of the Western Association of Fastener Distributors.
Hubbard succeeds Steve Kendall of Portland Screw. Her husband, Gordon Hubbard, was WAFD”s president from 2000 to 2001.
Lou Boyd of The Olander Company is vice president and Dee Silver of Barnhill Bolt Company is secretary treasurer.
New board members are Yates Hudson, Copper State Bolt & Nut, and Tim Roberto Jr. of Star Stainless Screw.
Kendall announced that WAFD and Los Angeles Fastener Association have agreed to pursue a strategic alliance before proceeding further with a merger. The alliance is intended to expose each association to the benefits of the other group. Both associations will continue to offer member discounts at conferences, seminars and training programs to all WAFD and LAFA member companies.
A joint WAFD/LAFA conference is set for March 9-12, 2005, in Rancho Mirage, CA. The conference will offer sessions for both organizations.
