A Major Manufacturing Fastener Company located in Utica, MI is currently looking for a for their Heat Treat Steel Processing.  The successful candidate job responsibilities are as follows:

Customer and Supplier Concern Management; Responsible for receiving, tracking, assessing, and responding to customer issues. 

Internal Quality Concern / DMR process Management for timely and appropriate containment, disposition, corrective action, and analysis. 

Manage Root Cause, Corrective, and Preventive Action Implementation; and Preventive Action responses to all quality concerns and audit non-conformances. (5Y/8D/DDW, etc). 

Develop / Maintain SOP’s for applicability and implement / conduct training as appropriate. 

Manage / Maintain Process Control Plans, PFMEA’s and RPN Reduction Plans. 

Conduct and Manage Layered Audit program to assure control plan adherence / applicability. 

Manage and support Continuous Improvement process, utilizing customer feedback and internal isolations. 

Primary customer interface for quality issues, including customer visits and problem solving activities. 

Maintain TS16949 certification support compliance to customer specific requirements.

Conduct and support the Management Review Process in support of Continuous Improvement and ISO/TS 16949 Compliance. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, and Chemistry related field require. 

Familiarity with GM, Ford, & Chrysler’s automotive supplier requirements.

ISO/TS 16949 Auditor training certificate.

Experience leading and managing employees.

Experience with chemical analysis and mechanical testing.

Knowledge of ferrous material processing and spheridozed annealing.

Preferred Skills

Experience in the automotive fastener industry.

Metallurgy; Experience with mid / low carbon based steels.

Experience with neutrals and case hardening of fasteners.

6-Sigma/Lean training (Green Belt / Black Belt).
