A new anti-theft fastener aims to help solar panel owners combat theft.
Relatively easy to steal, solar panels are sitting on roofs or at ground level, and are typically secured to mounting racks by four standard bolts.

But Bryce Fastener says it has a solution.

Its patent pending product, called Raptor, integrates high-security theft protection, high strength, and better grounding potential for solar panel mounting systems.

“Private, highly controlled keyways keep unauthorized personnel from breaching the panel, while larger head style and pin provide 30% greater torque strength than standard fasteners,” according to the company.

“The deep serrations underneath the head not only prevent loosening over time, due to thermal expansion and contraction, but also double up on the grounding effect of the screw.”

Cold forged to ASTM standards, Raptor is available in standard and custom sizes, and is already being used by REC Solar, Inovus, and Sun Light & Power.

Founded in 1972, Bryce Fastener manufactures high security fasteners that utilize a customer-specific privately keyed lock. The company is headquartered at 1230 N. Mondel Dr., Gilbert, AZ 85233. Tel: 480 503-3801 Web: brycefasteners.com ©2012 GlobalFastenerNews.com
