Hoyt Fastener Corp. co-founder George Riff, 89, died Feb. 13, 2003, in Morton Grove, IL. Riff served as vice president of Active Screw in Chicago before he and Joe Hoyt started Niles, IL-based Hoyt Fasteners in 1967. Hoyt Fasteners merged with Champion Bolt Corp. in 1996 to form AXS Solutions Inc., which became part of Pentacon Inc. in 1998 and is now Anixter Pentacon.
Riff retired in 1999. He is survived by his daughter Jeannette Hartwig.
