Ohio Rod Products Hosts Career Center Students

The Ohio Rod Products division of the Elgin Fastener Group hosted 18 students from the Precision Machining program at the Southeastern Career Center in Versailles, IN, to demonstrate opportunities available in the field of specialty fastener manufacturing.
Working in conjunction with program director Jeff Bray, the management and production personnel of Ohio Rod Products provided plant tours and classroom instruction, highlighting various product applications and production methods utilized by the company.
Plans to expand this one-day introduction into an ongoing manufacturing apprenticeship program and eventual full-time employment opportunities are already in place, as are discussions to include other interested students from local high schools.
