QA Manager

Reporting directly to the President, the holder of this position is a key member of the senior management team with responsibilities both internal and external and must be able to “see the big picture” but also be willing to “get their hands dirty” in the plant. Internally, this position oversees the entire Quality Management System, utilizing both in-house and contract resources to achieve the goals of the QMS. A typical day would include participation in our pre-order Contract Review process, supervising – and participating in when necessary — the internal staff’s QA activities, and preparing Certifications to reflect product conformance to requirements.

External responsibilities include management of third-party audits, reacting to customer quality issues and representing the company at national aerospace quality organizational meetings such as the International Fastener Institute’s Division II (aerospace) meetings, GIDEP and NASC. Safety Socket’s representative at these events must be able to “hold their own” in conversations with Boeing, Airbus, Northrup Grumman and the U.S. Navy.

The Company
Safety Socket is a privately-held manufacturer of high-strength fasteners for demanding commercial, military and aerospace applications. With over 80 years of history in the Chicago area, the company is now located in western suburbs near Elgin, Illinois, a location which offers easy access to O’Hare airport and burgeoning aerospace industry operations in nearby Rockford, Illinois.

Our commitment to product quality is reflected by the fact that we were the first high-strength fastener manufacturer certified to AS9100D in the United States.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate would be someone who feels they have peaked in an ISO9001-only organization and interested in moving up in challenge. Alternatively, a lead in an organization already certified to AS9100 wanting more responsibility would find this an excellent opportunity.

Safety Socket offers competitive compensation and benefits for the right candidate.
