� Balzers Tool Coating Inc. changed its name to Balzers Inc. to reflect expansion. Balzers had three business units: Tool coating, components coating, and equipment sales and service.
Balzers also announced it received QS 9000 certification for its Amherst, NY, coating center and technical development center.
The parent company, Balzers AG, is based in Liechtenstein and has operations in 18 countries.
Balzers applies thin-film tool and precision component coatings from centers in Massachusetts, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina and New York. � The Greenslade & Company Inc. calibration laboratory in Loves Park, IL, was reaccredited by A2LA for ISO Guide 25. The scope of calibration capabilities was expanded with this accreditation and now includes all types of thread gages, including ring and plug gages, rolls and segments for Bi-Point, Tri-Roll and Johnson gages. � Questron Technology Inc. opened branches in Bristol, VA, and Greenville, MS, bringing the company to 36 facilities in North America.
Questron also announced the Milwaukee, WI, and Atlanta, GA, branches would relocate to larger facilities.
CEO Dominic Polimeni said the new branches �are in response to meeting the needs of certain customers that recently signed contracts with Questron.�
Polimeni said that during the past six months Questron has signed 10 logistics contracts with new and established OEM customers. The contracts are projected to total $18 million in additional annual revenue.
