Elgin Fastener Group named Pete Chojnacki VP of sales & marketing and Mike Melaragno director of inside sales & customer service for EFG’s cold headed products division.

Chojnacki has 20 years experience,including management roles with FabTech LLC, GED Integrated Solutions, and MSC Industrial Supply. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and speech communications from Indiana University and an MBA fromUniversity of Notre Dame. Chojnacki will be based at Elgin’s Brecksville, OH facility.

Melaragno has held several customer service and product management positions, including with Graftech International, the Wellman Products division of Carlisle Brake & Friction and Day-Glo Corporation. He holds a bachelors of international management degree from John Carroll University.

Peter Mess appointed a new management team for MW Industries: Rick Evangelista, Theresa Cater and Andy Hees as the Texas manufacturer approaches its 40th anniversary. 

Evangelista started with MW as a die maker’s apprentice in 1978. Subsequent MW roles include stamping room supervisor and operations manager.

Cater has 30 years of accounting experience and joined MW in 1998 as controller. She has led computerization throughout the company. 

Hees started in sales for MW in 2001 and now leads the sales staff plus handles materials purchasing.

Mess will continue to have a management role in the company he founded with Phillip Wunderlich in 1976.

Northern Safety & Industrial of the Würth Group named Mike Borrelli as CFO. He has 25 years experience in financial account and administration and acquisitions. He joins Würth from Flour City Bagel / Bruegger’s.

Pivot Point Inc. announced a new logo to note that in addition to pins, the Wisconsin-based company manufactures wire rope cable products plus propriety and custom fasteners.

The previous logo had been used over 30 years. “As much as we loved our old logo, we felt it was time to change to a more modern look,” president Dave Zimmermann said. 

Pivot Point traces its history back to 1929 when Rein Leitzke founded Leitzke Specialties to manufacture fasteners. The name was changed to Rein Leitzke Incorporated.

In 1982 grandson Rue Leitzke brought back the company as Pivot Point Incorporated. The current product line includes many of the traditional agricultural fasteners plus numerous industrial fasteners. Chuck Laverdure is the new sales manager at Southwest Fastener, Ken Lubbering announced. Lavender will manage outside sales force for Southwest’s Southwest’s Phoenix, Tucson and Albuquerque locations.

Laverdure has 28 years of sales and training experience from direct sales to MRO.  His fastener career started with Snap-on Tools in Washington.
